Ladies and Gentlemen of the Taun-TON.

Dearest Reader, the time has come for the union of two beautiful souls.

Anna and Alex got married on a hot spring day in April at the stunning Crowcombe Court. With its black and white floor tiles, columns, and grand ceilings, it is hard to imagine yourself anywhere other than on the set of Bridgerton.

Nestled in rolling hills of the quantocks, I arrived to mist still lifting from the woodland. I found the wonderful Caroline, the owner of Moons Blooms in Taunton, busy making the ceremony room full of flowers and decorating the grand staircase with a twirling mix of ivy and daises. I'm slightly biased when it comes to Caroline but she is truly talented, she even did my own wedding flowers!

Anna and her four bridesmaids, mother, and sister in law were downstairs and Alex and his groomsmen were upstairs relaxing and playing pool. It always amazes me the vast difference that brides and grooms experience on a wedding morning. Once it was time, Anna's mother zipped up Anna's dress and we set off for a first look with Alex! This was such a great way to get rid of any nerves and just feel that much more relaxed. I love that Anna and Alex did a first look! It was so sweet, special, and private just for them.

As their guests began to arrive the couple disappeared to allow everyone to take their seats for the main event! I was warned in advance that Anna's dad was not emotional and would not cry. Well I beg to differ! A lovely ceremony ensued and in it was the most beautiful reading, given by their long term friend Emily. Entitled "The Children of the Moon" the reading was an excerpt of Plato's symposium. I shan't write the whole reading in this post but I shall dedicate another to it. Perhaps I'll share my favourite part of it:

"We pass our whole lives together, desiring that we should be melted into one, to spend our lives as one person instead of two, and so that after our death there will be one departed soul instead of two; this is the very expression of our ancient need. And the reason is that human nature was originally one and we were a whole and the desire and the pursuit of the whole is called Love.."

There wasn't a dry eye in the room after Emily finished, myself included.

A quick formal photo session was next, I don't like to keep the couple occupied for too long! There are congratulations to be had, guests to greet and canapés to be eaten! Before we well earned break for myself and lots of hugs and kisses for Anna and Alex, Anna decided to do a bouquet toss! The lucky lady to catch the bouquet? Non other than her sister in law to be. It was fate!

As the sun began to set and the band was gearing up to play we spent ten minutes getting those all important couple shots! And by the time we were done the band was ready and Anna and Alex were ready to party the night away.

Congratulations Anna and Alex, I can't wait to see what the future holds for you!
